Cara Delevingne clarifies why she declined an interview at the British Grand Prix

Cara Delevingne has responded to the backlash she received for refusing to talk to F1 broadcaster Martin Brundle at the British Grand Prix on Sunday.

The model and actress was approached by Brundle during his pre-race grid walk at Silverstone, but a man, who Delevingne later identified as an F1 representative, told him that she was not doing any interviews.

Brundle persisted and asked Delevingne directly, joking that it was a “rule” that everyone on the grid had to speak to him. Delevingne repeated that she was not giving any interviews and said she could not hear anything on the noisy grid.

Brundle then walked away, sarcastically saying that he was sure it would have been “extremely interesting” to talk to her.

The clip went viral on social media, with many fans criticising Delevingne for her “garbage behaviour” and lack of respect for Brundle, who is a former F1 driver and a legend in the sport.

However, Delevingne took to Twitter on Sunday night to explain her side of the story. She said that she was told by the F1 representative to say no to Brundle, and that she was not aware of who he was or what he wanted to ask her.

“I was told to say no so I did. Thank you for seeing both sides xxx,” she tweeted in reply to a fan who defended her.

She also said that she had a lot of fun at the Grand Prix and was happy to be there, despite the controversy.

“Anyway, I had so much fun today and was so happy to be there no matter what anyone else may think x,” she added.
