Diablo 4 gets ready for season 1 with new patch

Blizzard Entertainment has released a new patch for Diablo 4, the popular action role-playing game, to prepare it for its first season of content, the Season of the Malignant. The patch includes bug fixes, balance changes, and new unique items and legendary aspects for each class.

The patch notes, which are over 6,600 words long, detail the various changes and improvements made to the game based on player feedback. Some of the highlights are:

  • Altar of Lilith unlocks and map discovery are now account-wide.
  • World Tier rewards and difficulties have been adjusted to offer more gold and drops in tier 2 and more challenge in tiers 3 and 4.
  • New unique items such as Ahavarion Spear of Lycander, Azurewrath, Fleshrender, Lidless Wall, Eaglehorn, and The Oculus have been added to the game. These items have special effects that enhance certain skills or situations.
  • New legendary aspects such as Audacity, Craven, Ancestral Charge, Subterranean, and others have been added to the game. These aspects grant powerful bonuses that can change the way you play your class.
  • Various bug fixes and class balance changes have been implemented to address issues with skills, items, enemies, quests, dungeons, and more.

The Season of the Malignant will start on July 21 and will last for three months. Players who create a new seasonal character will be able to participate in exclusive challenges and rewards. The season theme is based on the Malignant faction, a group of corrupted cultists who worship Lilith, the daughter of Mephisto. Players will encounter new enemies, events, bosses, and items related to this faction throughout the season.

Diablo 4 is available now for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. You can read the full patch notes on Blizzard’s official website.
