Darren Kent, who played Goatherd in the hit series Game of Thrones, has passed away at the age of 36. His talent agency, Carey Dodd Associates, announced his death on X, saying he died peacefully on Friday with his parents and best friend by his side.
Kent had a rare skin condition that prevented him from being exposed to sunlight and also suffered from osteoporosis and arthritis. He won the Best Actor award at the 2012 Van d`Or Independent Film Awards for his role in Sunny Boy, a film about a boy with the same disorder. He also appeared in other shows such as EastEnders, Les Misérables and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
Kent was also a writer-director and made a short film called You Know Me in 2021, which won several awards. His agency described him as “an amazing human being” and expressed their sadness and love for his family.
