Prime Video has announced the release date and shared a teaser trailer for the second season of Invincible, the hit adult animated superhero series based on the comic book by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley.
The show follows Mark Grayson (voiced by Steven Yeun), a teenager who inherits superpowers from his father, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons), the most powerful hero on Earth. However, Mark soon discovers that his father’s legacy is not as heroic as it seems, and he has to face new threats and challenges in his journey to become a hero.
The second season will debut with eight episodes on November 3, with new episodes dropping weekly on Prime Video. The season will also feature guest stars such as Peter Cullen, Mark Hamill, and more. The show was renewed for two more seasons in April, after its successful first season that premiered in March.
In addition to the second season, Prime Video also revealed a special standalone episode titled Invincible Atom Eve, which focuses on the origin story of Mark’s love interest and fellow superhero, Atom Eve (Gillian Jacobs). The episode will premiere globally on Prime Video on July 21, following its screening at San Diego Comic-Con.
Invincible boasts an impressive voice cast that includes Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen, Zazie Beetz, Walton Goggins, Mahershala Ali, and many others. The show is produced by Skybound Entertainment and executive produced by Kirkman, Simon Racioppa, David Alpert, and Catherine Winder.
