Sexton was a longtime ensemble cast member of “The BOB & TOM Show”, a nationally syndicated morning radio show that features comedy sketches, interviews and music. He created many memorable characters on the show, such as Donnie Baker, Floyd the Trucker, Kenny Tarmac and Dusty Privates. He also performed stand-up comedy across the country, often in character as Donnie Baker.
Donnie Baker was a fan favorite character who often called into the show to rant about various topics, such as his ex-girlfriend Patty Ferguson, his boss Randy, his boat and his band. He had a distinctive voice and catchphrases, such as “I swear to God” and “State law”. He also made several viral videos on YouTube and Facebook, where he had over a million followers.

Sexton’s death comes just months after he was involved in a shooting incident in Indianapolis, where he was allegedly shot at by the husband of a woman he was having an affair with. Sexton told FOX59 that he was driving a rental vehicle after meeting the woman at a bar when a sedan pulled up next to him and opened fire. He said he recognized the shooter as the woman’s husband, whom he had a history with. He escaped with minor injuries from the shattered glass.
No charges have been filed in connection with the shooting incident, which is still under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
