Salesforce, the global leader in cloud computing and customer relationship management, has launched a new service that aims to help organizations with a social mission use artificial intelligence (AI) to achieve their goals.
The service, called Impact Cloud, is part of Salesforce’s Social Impact Center, which provides tools and resources for nonprofits, foundations, educational institutions and other social good entities.
Impact Cloud is designed to help these organizations measure and improve their impact on the issues they care about, such as poverty, health, education, environment and human rights.
According to Salesforce, Impact Cloud can help users collect and analyze data from various sources, such as surveys, sensors, social media and third-party platforms, to gain insights into their performance and outcomes.
It can also help them create and test hypotheses, generate predictions and recommendations, and automate tasks and workflows.
For example, an environmental organization can use Impact Cloud to monitor air quality data from sensors and satellites, identify pollution hotspots and trends, and suggest actions to reduce emissions and improve health.
A health organization can use Impact Cloud to track the effectiveness of its interventions, such as vaccinations or screenings, predict the risk of disease outbreaks or epidemics, and optimize its resource allocation and delivery.
An educational organization can use Impact Cloud to assess the learning outcomes of its students, identify the factors that influence their academic success or failure, and personalize their learning paths and support.
Salesforce said that Impact Cloud is built on its existing platform and products, such as Einstein AI, Tableau analytics, MuleSoft integration and Trailhead learning.
It also leverages its partner ecosystem and community of experts to provide guidance and best practices for using AI for social good.
Salesforce said that it has been working with several pilot customers to develop and test Impact Cloud, such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the International Rescue Committee, Teach For America and Water.org.
It plans to make the service available to more customers in 2022.
