AEW made history on Saturday night as it presented its first-ever All In pay-per-view from Wembley Stadium in London, England, in front of a record-breaking crowd of 81,035 fans.
One of the highlights of the night was the four-way match for the AEW Women’s World Championship, which saw Saraya defeat Hikaru Shida, Toni Storm and Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. to become the new champion.
Saraya, who is best known for her WWE run as Paige, returned to wrestling earlier this year after a long hiatus due to a neck injury. She joined AEW as a surprise entrant in the Casino Battle Royale at Double or Nothing and quickly established herself as a top contender for the women’s title.
The four-way match was a fast-paced and hard-hitting affair, with all four women showcasing their skills and charisma. Shida, who had been the champion since May 2020, fought valiantly to retain her title, but was ultimately pinned by Saraya after a vicious Rampaige.
Saraya celebrated her victory with tears of joy and disbelief, as the fans chanted her name and gave her a standing ovation. She thanked the fans for their support and said that this was the best moment of her career.
Saraya is the fourth woman to hold the AEW Women’s World Championship, after Riho, Nyla Rose and Shida. She is also the first British woman to win a major wrestling title in Wembley Stadium since her mother, Sweet Saraya, won the SHIMMER Championship in 2011.
